Bohne and Imperial Crane took an active role on the Steering Committee for the 3^rd Annual MDA Muscle Team event.  More than 250 business leaders, local professional athletes and families affected by muscular dystrophy attended the high profile sports reception. This year’s event raised more than $212,000.  Imperial was responsible for raising over $33,000 by receiving generous contributions from our customers and vendors and donating ourselves.

An EMR has a strong impact on business by gauging past cost of injuries and future chances of risk.  Imperial’s .61 EMR has set them apart from competition by giving customer’s the assurance of Imperial’s personal commitment to safety.   Because of this, Imperial has been able to expand their organization through the United State with large, long term projects in Borger, Texas; St. Louis, Missouri; and Tehachapi, California; in addition to their long time Midwest clients.

Imperial’s safety department readjusted their plan to include a growing number of employees in multiple locations. Safety’s headquarters in Bridgeview, IL oversees all aspects of projects through an improved tracking system and onsite management for sites abroad.

Jeanie Hoffman, Imperial Crane’s Safety Specialist, explains, “We are now able to more efficiently track safety trends and insure our employees are not only properly certified, but qualified to Imperial standards.  To further maintain direction over the expanding organization, the safety department has sent qualified onsite employees to oversee projects.  We are in constant communication with them, keeping them updated on new policies and procedures.”

Starting as a one crane operation, Imperial has grown their rental and sales divisions to create a worldwide organization.  Management’s core values of safety and service, with safety taking a precedent over everything, have trickled down to all employees at numerous locations.  Their consistently decreasing EMR is a direct result of management and the future of Imperial Crane.

The biggest single crane lift Imperial handled for the project was done by picking a 409,000 pound knockout drum.  The drum was lifted by Imperial’s 352 ton SANY SCC3200 with 118 feet of boom and a 31 foot radius.

Robert Kaleta, an employee of Imperial for 23 years, operated the job.  “It’s not often you come across a pick of this magnitude. The team effort involved in this undertaking, combined with the crane’s performance made for a successful job.  Everything went smoothly from the engineering, to the multiple planning stages and most importantly the equipment.  During the job I felt very secure and confident at the solidness of the crane.  It handled the lift impeccably, everything was completed to expectations.”

Imperial Crane Services, a dealer for Sany crawler cranes in the North Central United States, has had positive experiences with the crawler cranes.  They have used them consistently in BP’s Indiana refinery along with other long term industrial projects and shorter term rentals.
